Wix Wednesday Wafflers was created in March 2022. Funding assistance has been provided by the Wix Fayre Group, Wix Village Hall Committee and Wix Parish Council of which we are very grateful.

The reason for the creation of this social group was to try and fill the void that had been left in the community after COVID restrictions meant other groups closed down.

The aim of the group is to provide a comfortable meeting place for people to get together, have a cuppa, catch up and network. 

It has been fantastic seeing the group grow and seeing people making new friends and sharing ideas. 

We have been able to utilise items left from previous groups meaning that some people enjoy a game of cards or scrabble, others like to browse the book & jigsaw puzzle swop section each week or some decide to have a quick game of shove ha'ppeny!

We are always looking for new ideas and entertainment, more recently we have had charity groups pop in and give a talk.

With the funding we have secured so far we hope to look into day trips to local places of interest for all that want to come along.

Due to my other work in the village the group is also used for helping out with other community ventures like Wix and Wrabness School Sports Day and Wix Village Fayre. The group provides and excellent pool of resources that we can all tap into and ask for help!

Wix Wednesday Wafflers is still in its infancy but is proving to be a fun and welcoming village social group.

Pop along and see for yourself! Every Wednesday between 2pm and 4pm at Wix Village Hall.
